Everyday Biscuits

A recipe used for over 45 years..plain, simple & good.



Items Needed:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons shortening (such as Crisco)
  • 3/4 cup whole milk



    Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and mix until dough follows fork around bowl.
    Turn out on a lightly floured surface. Knead gently and pat to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into circles using a standard round cutter. Bake at 425 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 15 medium sized biscuits.
