Ethel's Vanilla Custard

A wonderfully delicious dessert, for any occasion!

Items Needed: (for 1 large pan of custard)


  • 12 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 5 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • nutmeg (optional)

    Mix eggs, sugar, milk & vanilla in a very large bowl.

    After fully blended, pour into a 8"x13" glass baking dish. Lightly sprinkle top with nutmeg (optional)

    Place in a pre-heated 350 degree F oven for 60 minutes, until nothing sticks to a knife when inserted into the custard.

    Remove from oven when custard has fully set.

    Chill completely, cut & serve in squares.

    Refrigerate until served.
