Freshness Dating
Our family's commitment to produce the freshest,
highest quality and best tasting egg possible.
The American Egg Board recommends you use the eggs within 45 days of the JULIAN pack date printed on the carton.
To have the freshest and best tasting eggs possible, we start with the finest
grains grown by local area farmers. By using locally grown grains, we are assured
of getting the best corn and soybeans and other grains used in our feed. Then we custom mill the grains ourselves right on our farm to insure freshness. Fresh
feed makes a healthy chicken, and a healthy chicken makes a beautiful egg.
How can you tell the date the eggs were produced? Most states require a "Julian"
date. The Julian date is the numeric date of the year that the eggs were cartoned.
Eggs that were cartoned on January 1 would have a 1, eggs cartoned on December 31
would have a 365, the 365th day of the year. On our egg cartons this number is usually
next to our federal farm number which is a 6 digit number. If all of this sounds
confusing, just take a look at the chart below, and remember that a Rose Acre egg is a fresh egg.

Our family has been handling eggs commercially for 50 plus years. We strive to produce the freshest, highest quality and best tasting egg possible.
